I pay homage to the male botanists Sintenis (I couldn’t find his records), and Robert Brown, Clair Alan Brown, Nicholas Edward Brown, Addison Brown, Andrew Phillip Brown, or William Brown. They first catalogued me in 1817.

I pay homage to the male botanists Skrjabin (I couldn’t find his records), Maydell (I couldn’t find his records), Brintnell (I couldn’t find his records), Gregory J. Jordan, John Macoun, Nymann (I couldn’t find his records), Todar (I couldn’t find his records), and Morton Eaton Peck, or William Dandridge Peck. They first catalogued me in 1753.
