#997 They called me Carex polystachya, also known as Carex hartwegii, Carex cladostachya var. oerstedii, and Carex oerstedii. I pay homage to the male botanists Karl Theodor Hartweg, and Oersted (I couldn’t find his records). They first catalogued me in 1803.
#966 They called me Bletia florida, also known as Bletia shepherdii. I pay homage to the male botanist George John Shepherd. They first catalogued me in 1813.

I pay homage to the male botanists Gillet (I couldn’t find his records), and James Edward Smith, Johannes Jacobus Smith, Winifred Smith, Christo Albertyn Smith, Charles Piper Smith, Gerard Edwards Smith, Gilbert Morgan Smith, Henry George Smith, Hamilton Lanphere Smith, Albert Charles Smith, Alan Reid Smith, or William Wright Smith. They first catalogued me in 1845.
