I pay homage to the male botanists Laurent (I couldn’t find his records), Holst (I couldn’t find his records), Georg August Schweinfurth, Montbeliard (I couldn’t find his records), and John Buchanan, or Alex M. Buchanan. They first catalogued me in 1948.

Native to Angola, Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Northern Provinces, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe.
