#373 They called me Melastoma cyanoides, also known as Otanthera lamii, and Otanthera macgregorii. I pay homage to the male botanists Herman Johannes Lam, and Macgregor (I couldn’t find his records). They first catalogued me in 1812.

Native to Andaman Is., Maluku, Myanmar, New Guinea, Nicobar Is., Philippines, Queensland, Sulawesi, Sumatera, Thailand, and Vietnam.

I pay homage to the male botanists Thouar (I couldn’t find his records), Thouars (I couldn’t find his records), Koenig (I couldn’t find his records), and Joseph Robert Bernard Boivin, or Louis Hyacinthe Boivin. They first catalogued me in 1929.
