#951 They called me Ipomoea fimbriosepala, also known as Ipomoea smithii, and Ipomoea gilletii. I pay homage to the male botanists Gillet (I couldn’t find his records), and James Edward Smith, Johannes Jacobus Smith, Winifred Smith, Christo Albertyn Smith, Charles Piper Smith, Gerard Edwards Smith, Gilbert Morgan Smith, Henry George Smith, Hamilton Lanphere Smith, Albert Charles Smith, Alan Reid Smith, or William Wright Smith. They first catalogued me in 1845.
