#836 They called me Plantago australis, also known as Plantago macrostachys var. stuckertii, Plantago kurtzii, Plantago stuckertii, and Plantago asplundii. I pay homage to the male botanists Stuckert (I couldn’t find his records), Asplund (I couldn’t find his records), and Karl Marie Max Kurtz, or Fritz (Federico) Kurtz. They first catalogued me in 1792.

Native to Argentina Northeast, Argentina Northwest, Argentina South, Bolivia, Brazil South, Brazil Southeast, Chile North, Chile South, Juan Fernández Is., Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.
