I pay homage to the male botanists Robert Brown, Clair Alan Brown, Nicholas Edward Brown, Addison Brown, Andrew Phillip Brown, or William Brown, and James Edward Smith, Johannes Jacobus Smith, Winifred Smith, Christo Albertyn Smith, Charles Piper Smith, Gerard Edwards Smith, Gilbert Morgan Smith, Henry George Smith, Hamilton Lanphere Smith, Albert Charles Smith, Alan Reid Smith, or William Wright Smith. They first catalogued me in 1827.
