#370 They called me Mentha suaveolens, also known as Mentha bofillii, Mentha suaveolens var. reverchonii, Mentha ripartii, and Mentha willdenowii. I pay homage to the male botanists Bofill (I couldn’t find his records), Elisée Reverchon, Ripart (I couldn’t find his records), and Carl Ludwig Willdenow, or Carl Ludwig von Willdenow. They first catalogued me in 1792.

Native to Algeria, Azores, Baleares, Belgium, Canary Is., Corse, East Aegean Is., France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Madeira, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Sardegna, Sicilia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, and Turkey-in-Europe.
