Native to Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Provinces, KwaZulu-Natal, Mozambique, Northern Provinces, Rwanda, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe.

I pay homage to the male botanists Junod (I couldn’t find his records), Conrath (I couldn’t find his records), Dieterlen (I couldn’t find his records), and George Thomson, or Charles Wyville Thomson. They first catalogued me in 1876.
