#96 They called me Tulipa orphanidea, also known as Tulipa orphanidea subsp. whittalii, Tulipa whittallii, Tulipa orphanidea var. whittallii, and Tulipa hayatii. I pay homage to the male botanists Whittal (I couldn’t find his records), Edward Whittall, and Hayat (I couldn’t find his records). They first catalogued me in 1862.

Native to Bulgaria, East Aegean Is., Greece, Kriti, Turkey, and Turkey-in-Europe.
