I pay homage to the male botanists Johann Heinrich Friedrich Link, Jan Svatopluk Presl, or Carl Borivoj Presl, and Heinrich Wilhelm Schott, Heinrich Schott, Anton Schott, or Arthur Carl Victor Schott. They first catalogued me in 1753.

#12 They called me Najas marina, also known as Najas marina var. ohwii, Najas marina var. riedelii, and Najas marina subsp. ehrenbergii. I pay homage to the male botanists Ohw (I couldn’t find his records), Riedel (I couldn’t find his records), and Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg. They first catalogued me in 1753.
