Native to Bismarck Archipelago, Borneo, Malaya, Maluku, New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Is., and Sulawesi.

I pay homage to the male botanist Johan Coenraad van Hasselt. They first catalogued me in 1905.

I pay homage to the male botanists Thomas Fulton Bourdillon, Talbot (I couldn’t find his records), and George Charles Wallich, or Nathaniel Wallich. They first catalogued me in 1863.
