I pay homage to the male botanists Elmer Drew Merrill, Roelof Benjamin van den Bosch, and James Edward Smith, Johannes Jacobus Smith, Winifred Smith, Christo Albertyn Smith, Charles Piper Smith, Gerard Edwards Smith, Gilbert Morgan Smith, Henry George Smith, Hamilton Lanphere Smith, Albert Charles Smith, Alan Reid Smith, or William Wright Smith. They first catalogued me in 1905.

Native to Bismarck Archipelago, Borneo, Caroline Is., Fiji, Jawa, Lesser Sunda Is., Malaya, New Caledonia, Philippines, Queensland, Solomon Is., Sulawesi, Sumatera, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vanuatu.

I pay homage to the male botanists Reinwardt (I couldn’t find his records), Winckel (I couldn’t find his records), Arthur Francis George Kerr, Charles Noyes Forbes, Edward Forbes, or Henry Ogg Forbes, and Hermann Kurz, Holger Willibald Kurz, Wilhelm Sulpiz Kurz, or Albert Kurz. They first catalogued me in 1823.
