I pay homage to the male botanists William Griffith, and Charles Curtis, Carlton Clarence Curtis, Charles Henry Curtis, William Curtis, or Moses Ashley Curtis. They first catalogued me in 1840.

Native to Andaman Is., Borneo, Jawa, Malaya, Nicobar Is., Philippines, Sumatera, Thailand, and Vietnam.

#291 They called me Eleocharis pellucida, also known as Scirpus thomsonii, and Eleocharis thomsonii. I pay homage to the male botanist George Thomson, or Charles Wyville Thomson. They first catalogued me in 1828.

I pay homage to the male botanists William Roxburgh, Fernandez (I couldn’t find his records), Thwaites (I couldn’t find his records), and Brass (I couldn’t find his records). They first catalogued me in 1911.
