#240 They called me Sasa veitchii, also known as Sasa uii, and Bambusa veitchii. I pay homage to the male botanists U (I couldn’t find his records), and Harry Veitch, John Gould Veitch, Peter Veitch, or Harry James Veitch. They first catalogued me in 1919.
Native to Japan, Kuril Is., and Sakhalin.
