#206 They called me Vitis vinifera, also known as Vitis guilelmii, and Vitis gmelinii. I pay homage to the male botanists Guilelm (I couldn’t find his records), and Johann Friedrich Gmelin, Johann Georg Gmelin, Samuel Gottlieb Gmelin, or Carl Christian Gmelin. They first catalogued me in 1753.
