#722 They called me Papaver rhoeas, also known as Papaver fuchsii, Papaver pseudohaussknechtii, and Papaver osswaldii. I pay homage to the male botanists Pseudohaussknecht (I couldn’t find his records), Osswald (I couldn’t find his records), and Leonhart Fuchs, or Hans Peter Fuchs. They first catalogued me in 1753.

#721 They called me Streblus taxoides, also known as Taxotrophis roxburghii, and Phyllochlamys wallichii. I pay homage to the male botanists William Roxburgh, and George Charles Wallich, or Nathaniel Wallich. They first catalogued me in 1875.

Native to Andaman Is., Assam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hainan, India, Jawa, Laos, Lesser Sunda Is., Malaya, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sulawesi, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Native to Afghanistan, Bangladesh, East Himalaya, Iran, Iraq, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and West Himalaya.
