#595 They called me Gossypium herbaceum, also known as Gossypium simpsonii, and Gossypium zaitzevii. I pay homage to the male botanists George Simpson, and Zaitzev (I couldn’t find his records). They first catalogued me in 1753.

Native to Afghanistan, Iran, Lebanon-Syria, Oman, and Yemen.

I pay homage to the male botanists Henrik Franz Alexander von Eggers, Read (I couldn’t find his records), Robert Graham, and Seitz (I couldn’t find his records). They first catalogued me in 1792.
