#505 They called me Ischaemum ciliare, also known as Ischaemum ciliare var. wallichii, Andropogon retzii, Ischaemum indicum var. wallichii, and Ischaemum indicum var. togasii. I pay homage to the male botanists Retz (I couldn’t find his records), Togas (I couldn’t find his records), and George Charles Wallich, or Nathaniel Wallich. They first catalogued me in 1791.

Native to Andaman Is., Assam, Bangladesh, Borneo, China South-Central, China Southeast, Hainan, India, Jawa, Laccadive Is., Laos, Lesser Sunda Is., Malaya, Maldives, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

They first catalogued me in 1753.
