#495 They called me Momordica dioica, also known as Momordica wallichii. I pay homage to the male botanist George Charles Wallich, or Nathaniel Wallich. They first catalogued me in 1805.

Native to Assam, Bangladesh, East Himalaya, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and West Himalaya.

#489 They called me Homalomena griffithii, also known as Homalomena grabowskii, Homalomena kingii, and Chamaecladon griffithii. I pay homage to the male botanists William Griffith, Grabowsk (I couldn’t find his records), and George King. They first catalogued me in 1893.

Native to Andaman Is., Borneo, Malaya, Myanmar, Nicobar Is., Sumatera, Thailand, and Vietnam.

#486 They called me Celtis philippensis, also known as Solenostigma wightii, Celtis hasseltii, Celtis wightii, Celtis philippensis var. wightii, Solenostigma hasseltii, Celtis brownii, and Celtis prantlii. I pay homage to the male botanists Johan Coenraad van Hasselt, Prantl (I couldn’t find his records), Robert Wight, or William Franklin Wight, and Robert Brown, Clair Alan Brown, Nicholas Edward Brown, Addison Brown, Andrew Phillip Brown, or William Brown. They first catalogued me in 1837.
