#997 They called me Carex polystachya, also known as Carex hartwegii, Carex cladostachya var. oerstedii, and Carex oerstedii. I pay homage to the male botanists Karl Theodor Hartweg, and Oersted (I couldn’t find his records). They first catalogued me in 1803.

Native to Cabinda, Cameroon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gulf of Guinea Is., and Nigeria.
