#40 They called me Moraea pallida, also known as Homeria mossii. I pay homage to the male botanist Charles Edward Moss. They first catalogued me in 1998.

Native to Botswana, Cape Provinces, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Lesotho, Namibia, and Northern Provinces.

#39 They called me Sisyrinchium langloisii, also known as Sisyrinchium tenuifolium var. seatonii, Bermudiana hartwegii, and Sisyrinchium hartwegii. I pay homage to the male botanists Langlois (I couldn’t find his records), Seaton (I couldn’t find his records), and Karl Theodor Hartweg. They first catalogued me in 1899.

Native to Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.

#38 They called me Watsonia pillansii, also known as Watsonia priorii, and Watsonia hutchinsonii. I pay homage to the male botanists Pillans (I couldn’t find his records), Prior (I couldn’t find his records), and John Hutchinson. They first catalogued me in 1921.

Native to Cape Provinces, and KwaZulu-Natal.
