#676 They called me Maclura cochinchinensis, also known as Cudrania thorelii, Cudrania rumphii, Maclura cochinchinensis var. bancroftii, Cudrania javanensis var. bancroftii, and Maclura thorelii. I pay homage to the male botanists Thorel (I couldn’t find his records), Rumph (I couldn’t find his records), and Edward Nathaniel Bancroft. They first catalogued me in 1962.

Native to Assam, Bangladesh, Borneo, Cambodia, China South-Central, China Southeast, Christmas I., East Himalaya, Hainan, Jawa, Laos, Lesser Sunda Is., Malaya, Maluku, Myanmar, Nepal, New Caledonia, New Guinea, New South Wales, Nicobar Is., Philippines, Queensland, Sri Lanka, Sulawesi, Sumatera, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet, Vietnam, and West Himalaya.
