#814 They called me Dryopteris hasseltii, also known as Athyrium hasseltii, Polystichopsis hasseltii, Phegopteris hasseltii, Acrorumohra hasseltii, Byrsopteris hasseltii, Arachniodes hasseltii, Rumohra hasseltii, and Polypodium hasseltii. I pay homage to the male botanist Johan Coenraad van Hasselt. They first catalogued me in 1905.

Native to Assam, Borneo, Caroline Is., China South-Central, East Himalaya, Fiji, Hainan, Japan, Jawa, Malaya, Maluku, Nansei-shoto, New Guinea, Philippines, Queensland, Solomon Is., Sulawesi, Sumatera, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

I pay homage to the male botanists Thomas Fulton Bourdillon, Talbot (I couldn’t find his records), and George Charles Wallich, or Nathaniel Wallich. They first catalogued me in 1863.
