#253 They called me Ixora coccinea, also known as Ixora shawii, Ixora coccinea var. hermannii, and Ixora eekhautii. I pay homage to the male botanists Paul Hermann, Eekhaut (I couldn’t find his records), and George Shaw, Henry Shaw, or Herbert Kenneth Airy Shaw. They first catalogued me in 1753.

Native to Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

I pay homage to the male botanists Lauterbach (I couldn’t find his records), Thozett (I couldn’t find his records), and William Roxburgh. They first catalogued me in 1820.
