#486 They called me Celtis philippensis, also known as Solenostigma wightii, Celtis hasseltii, Celtis wightii, Celtis philippensis var. wightii, Solenostigma hasseltii, Celtis brownii, and Celtis prantlii. I pay homage to the male botanists Johan Coenraad van Hasselt, Prantl (I couldn’t find his records), Robert Wight, or William Franklin Wight, and Robert Brown, Clair Alan Brown, Nicholas Edward Brown, Addison Brown, Andrew Phillip Brown, or William Brown. They first catalogued me in 1837.

Native to Andaman Is., Bismarck Archipelago, Borneo, China South-Central, China Southeast, Hainan, India, Jawa, Laos, Lesser Sunda Is., Malaya, Maluku, Myanmar, New Guinea, Northern Territory, Philippines, Queensland, Solomon Is., Sri Lanka, Sulawesi, Sumatera, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Western Australia.
