Native to Andaman Is., Assam, Bangladesh, Borneo, China South-Central, China Southeast, East Himalaya, India, Jawa, Malaya, Myanmar, Nicobar Is., Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sulawesi, Sumatera, Thailand, and Vietnam.

I pay homage to the male botanists William Griffith, Royen (I couldn’t find his records), and Krascheninnikov (I couldn’t find his records). They first catalogued me in 1805.
