#1008 They called me Radermachera quadripinnata, also known as Spathodea lobbii, Radermachera quadripinnata subsp. lobbii, Radermachera whitfordii, Stereospermum seemannii, and Radermachera lobbii. I pay homage to the male botanists Whitford (I couldn’t find his records), Thomas Lobb, or William Lobb, and Berthold Carl Seemann, or Wilhelm Eduard Gottfried Seemann. They first catalogued me in 1870.

Native to Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mexico Northeast, Mexico Southwest, Michigan, Minnesota, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nova Scotia, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Québec, Rhode I., Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
